‘Sissinghurst, An Unfinished History’, escrito por Adam Nicolson.

As the title of the book says, its history will have much more to tell. After visiting Sissinghurst a few days ago I just finished the book ‘Sissinghurst, An Unfinished History’, that I had started before my trip. The book is written by Adam Nicolson, grandson of Harold Nicolson and Vita Sackville-West who bought the place in the 1930’s praticly in ruins. It’s a love story. Love for the place he called home and its history.
The property is big and the most emblematic building must be The Tower. The author describes it as the heart of Sissinghurst. From there it flew all the energy that made it alive when his grandparents were there.
Today the gardens attract thousands of visitors each year. It’s like a patchwork of colour in green. The Spring Garden, The Cottage Garden, The White Garden, The Rose Garden are just a few of the areas we can visit.
I loved to be there and see it in the Autumn colours but I want to go back and admire it in other colours. I definitely be back to Sissinghurst someday!
