Haemanthus coccineus

Florescem no Outono.
A bulb from the botanic familly Amarylidaceae. It comes from South Africa where it can be found in large clumps of hundreds. Here, they flower in Autumn. At first we can see just a red tonge coming from the bulb center, then a pedunculum with dark spots like an animal skin. The rubbery plant looks shiny and glossy. Its has the red spathe surrounding 50-100 light flowers, pink coral, like a brush.
